Sleeping Beauty: Back in Stock
Privacy policy
Last updated 5 November 2026
Sleeping Beauty: Back in Stock (“the app”) is made by Crooked Cats Studio LLC, San Diego, California (“we”). It adds a Notify me button to sold-out products in Shopify stores and emails shoppers when those products are back. This policy explains what the app stores when a merchant installs it, and when their shoppers use it. We keep only what the app needs to work, and we never sell it.
Information about merchants
When a store installs the app, Shopify gives us the store’s address, name, plan and an access token, and the name and email of the person who installed it. We store the app’s settings for the store: its email wording and colour. We use this only to run the app, to bill through Shopify, and to answer the merchant’s support emails.
Information about shoppers
- Notify me. When a shopper asks to hear about a product, we store their email, the product and size they want, their language, and the time they signed up. If a merchant brings a waitlist over from another app, we store the same details from that file.
- Sales from restock emails. Shopify tells the app about new orders, including the buyer’s email. We compare it with the emails on the store’s waitlists and don’t keep it. If a shopper buys an item within 14 days of its restock email, we record the value of that sale on their sign-up, so the merchant can see what the emails earned.
We use shopper information only to send the restock email they asked for and to show the merchant those numbers, on the merchant’s behalf. We don’t add shoppers to any marketing list. The merchant is responsible for their own store’s privacy notice to shoppers. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe. If a shopper unsubscribes, we keep a scrambled fingerprint of their address (not the address itself) so nobody can sign them up to that store’s waitlists again.
Services we use
- Shopify — the platform the app runs on, and billing.
- Cloudflare — hosts the app and its database, and sends its emails.
Each only receives what it needs for its job. We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies.
How long we keep it
- Sign-ups are deleted 13 months after the shopper was emailed.
- Sign-ups for something that never came back are deleted after 24 months.
- A shopper who unsubscribes is taken off every waitlist at that store at once.
When a store uninstalls the app, Shopify tells us 48 hours later and we erase everything we hold about that store and its shoppers. When Shopify passes on a shopper’s request to be erased, we delete their sign-ups for that store.
Our agreement with merchants
By installing the app, a merchant agrees to these terms. The merchant decides why shopper information is collected and is responsible for it; we handle it for them, only on their instructions through the app and only as this policy describes. We don’t sell it or use it for anything else. We keep it confidential, protect it as described below, use only the services listed above, tell the merchant without delay if a breach affects their shoppers, help with shoppers’ requests, and delete it as described above.
Your rights
Shoppers in the EU, UK, California and elsewhere can ask to see, correct or delete their information. Shoppers should contact the store they shopped with, which can export it from the app; you can also email us and we’ll help. Merchants can export their waitlists from the app at any time.
Security
Data is sent over HTTPS and encrypted at rest by Cloudflare, including its backups. Test data is kept apart from live data. Only the people who build and support the app can reach the database, and only to fix problems. If something goes wrong, we follow a written incident plan.
Changes and contact
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date above and tell merchants in the app if the change matters to them. Questions: hi@crookedcatsstudio.com. Crooked Cats Studio LLC, San Diego, California, USA.
